3. Exotic Animal World (near Paarl)

Previously known as Butterfly World, with the pandemic of 2020 it became impossible to continue importing butterfly pupae, a name change was made to reflect the new focus of the sanctuary. They care for over 700 small animals, from fish to amphibians, from reptiles to birds, from mammals to invertebrates; no matter your interest, they have something for you to see!

A large section of their unique sanctuary is a specially designed enclosed tropical garden. Here you can walk freely amongst tropical birds and ring-tailed lemurs, which not only gives their animals far more space to roam, but allows for special ‘no barriers’ interaction as you watch their animals go about their day. It also means you can visit on a rainy day, without getting wet!
