There are so many fun things to do in Cape Town this time of the year. We have once again been invited to attend the Cape Town International Kite Festival. We had such a fun time last year. You may remember our video about it:
The festival is on the 27 & 28 October 2018 (gates open 10:00 to 18:00). Please join us and catch a selfie with us, #familytreasures #CTKiteFest. We will be there on Saturday. Here is some Kite info…
You can:
- Make a kite – there are several free kite-making workshops on both days.
- Bring a kite – visitors are welcome to fly single-line kites in the public flying area.
- Stunt kites – can fly in the main arena only, from 5pm to 6pm, both days.
Tickets areR40 / R15 (12 yrs & under) at the gate or on Quicket (before 26 Oct). There is FREE entry for 2 to 6 year olds IF they bring the #CTKiteFest colouring-in picture. Download here, print, colour in and bring along.
You can bring your own picnic OR buy refreshments from the food trucks & stalls (There were so many to choose from, I wanted to try it all!). Don’t forget to wear something warm (it can get breezy), comfy shoes and a hat / sun protection.
Just a note: No drones are permitted due to City of Cape Town event regulations and no dogs are permitted for safety reasons. Dog owners can watch the kites from the other side of the vlei, where dogs are welcome.
