The Cape Ostrich Farm

The Cape Point Ostrich Farm was established in 1996 and turned into an ostrich breeding farm by the vision of Angelika Coelle. The 65ha farm was undeveloped and only the ruins of the 19th century Cape Dutch style buildings were visible underneath the growth of many years.

Dr. Coelle and his wife Angelika had a vision and within the year they had accomplished to turn the dormant land into a natural landscape breeding farm.

The family run business has passed into the 2nd generation and is now managed by the children.

They are open 7 days a week from 09h30 to 17h30.  Their tours run every hour and every half hour and last approximately 25 – 30 mins.  The fee is currently R45 per adult, R20 per child between the age of 6 and 16 – this includes a cup of tea or coffee. Children under 6 years are free. They also have a restaurant should you wish to have lunch.  There is a leather and egg shop which you are welcome to browse.  You can also buy a bag of ostrich food to feed the birds at R5 per bag.  They do not offer ostrich riding on this farm.
