Spot it, You want it?

We were just sent another amazing game. Well, actually, it is 5 games in one! It is called Spot It and it was so much fun playing this game (and all its different versions). Most of the game options have the goal of matching an item on the card in the centre, with the card you have. We tried the Harry Potter version and we forgot the names of some of the items, so it ended in us calling out items like ‘blue fairy thingie’ really fast which resulted in us all in cry-laughing. It was loads of fun and I would definitely recommend this game for some quality family time.

Win Spot It!

If you follow my blog, you will know that we are busy with 40 giveaways and I think that this game is a fantastic giveaway which will encourage fun family time. So, all you have to do is comment below, telling us what you like to do with YOUR family and you will be entered in to win the Spot It! Classic Game valued at R349 (all our General Competition Rules apply). If you don’t win, don’t worry, you can also purchase the Spot It! Game from Takealot.com, Toy Kingdom, Hamleys, Toys R Us or Bargain Books.

This giveaway ran until the 8 May 2023, and the winner is – Tanith Elphick.

First released in 2009, the game in its distinctive round tin has become hugely popular, ranking high on many lists. It features in the top ten of Amazon’s best-selling card games. It’s one of the most popular games for children and for teachers, parents, and speech and occupational therapists. It is also one of the best games for cognitive development.

Spot It! also has multiple awards under its belt, including a Mom’s Choice Gold Award and Creative Child 2021 Travel Fun of the Year Award.

The game is aimed at school-going children aged six and up but is a great game for the whole family to play. It is travel size, so a parent can carry it in a handbag or keep it in the car for whenever an opportunity to ‘edutain’ children arises.

Philip Galliford, spokesperson for Solarpop—distributor for Spot It!, says: “Spot It! is a simple to learn, entertaining game that keeps players on their toes. It blends entertainment with education, boosting thinking skills, problem-solving, and a competitive mindset. It can be played anywhere, anytime, and it never gets boring. Furthermore, the packaging and product have gone green with less plastic and more recycled material incorporated into the product.”

  3. We enjoy playing board games / card games during load shedding as a family. Getting a bit tired of UNO and dominoes so this would be a nice addition to the collection!

  4. As a family that loves board games! Well any game for that matter! We have wanted this one for ages! We believe a family that plays together stays together we avoid monopoly like the plague…unless we actually do want to
Fight and end up with the monopoly table flipped over and each person in their own room then it’s on! Lol we had tons of board games and after a lovely night of playing with our dad we all said good night he was sick at the time and he had gotten up and opened the front door for some fresh air and he hadn’t noticed the gate was unlocked he fell asleep and I woke up to sounds walked into the lounge to see the door open and all the games we were playing that we had left neatly on the sofa to confine the next night was gone someone had walked in and walked out with them… dad passed not long after that and we haven’t played a game since but he really wanted to play this with his grandkid! And well we all want to play it as well. So I think it’s time to start playing again 4yrs is a long time to stop playing and my dad wouldn’t have wanted us to continue that way. Fingers crossed we will have a game night in daddy’s honor and we will get to play spot it!!

  5. Family time is the most precious time, so we’re always trying new and different things to keep things exciting, especially for the kids. They especially love outdoor activities, whether it is going to the park, taking long walks in the evenings, going to shows and plays. We love playing boardgames on a Sunday afternoon after a braai, or swimming until the sun goes down in summer. Time together as a family is the little treasures we gather over our lives together.
