Its been a very busy year for our family and now we are all in the thick of exams and the end-of-year work hustle and bustle. On top of that, the shops have been filled with Christmas reminders for months and its hard not to feel a little overwhelmed or just not ready for the holidays. What I have found is that in the midst of the chaos, it is so important to take a minute and breathe. . .and after that take action!
Take a Break and Deck the Halls
So, instead of avoiding the end of the year, I have decided to embrace it – starting with active breaks in the week preparing for the end of the year in the most wholesome ways possible! We started with creating easy Christmas Decorations for our tree. All you need are a few supplies from the craft shop or from your garden and you can create the cutest additions to add to your Christmas tree. More importantly, you will have a few moments to slow down and connect with your family in between the craziness.
What you will need:
- Polystyrene balls or old Christmas decorations that need some love
- A hot glue gun or just regular glue
- Ribbons
- Extras from your craft supplies

Instructions
- Grab your supplies
- Get creative
That’s it – It really doesn’t matter what you do, as long as there is lots of glitter, shine and meaning. Let the kids go wild! You may wish to wrap ribbon around the polystyrene balls gluing at the top and the bottom as a start. Or, you could grab a whole bunch of beads and glue to them all over the ball. Whatever you do, remember to add ribbon to the top so you can hang it on the tree.
