Unplug Yourself is launching their inaugural Festival of Games this Saturday, 13 April, in JHB (at Oaktree Function Venue in Bedfordview) and in Cape Town (at Durbanville town hall). These are the first of many events that will roll out during the year.

In our rushed digital age, now more than ever, people crave community and tabletop gaming events provide exactly that. It’s in person, face-to-face, you get to socialise with people you’ve never met, make new friends and enjoy a day out that hasn’t cost the earth. Tabletop gaming, where you aren’t being distracted by your phone, breaks the ice and provides a perfect opportunity for chatter, laughter, and bringing out everyone’s competitive side.

Each event is an opportunity for people, aged from 8 years and up, the gather around the table, unplug from screens and cellphones, and immerse themselves in the joy, the laughter, the flow-state fun of tabletop game playing.

“Festival of Games, brought to you by Unplug Yourself, is a haven for enthusiasts of all kinds, from strategic masterminds to creative storytellers. Imagine a room filled with laughter and excitement as players immerse themselves in rich, imaginative worlds. Games include Catan, Ticket to Ride, Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza, Spot It, Five Second Rule, Bananagrams, Qwirkle, Pass the Bob, Exploding Kittens, Codenames, Pandemic and more.”
