Bananagrams, Mobi and Rory’s Story Cubes

So, it’s back to school after a brief holiday and I am focusing on all my new back to school items now. Why now you ask? Well, stationery, school supplies and uniform are our main focus at the beginning of the year, as well as helping the children as they adjust to their new classes. We have also received the first reports and can see where our children need a little extra help. Now is the time we get to focus on helping the children improve in the areas they need to, and kids like fun not work, so let’s make it fun!

I have found three games that will help your children in mathematics, creative thinking, reading, writing, and spelling.

Bananagrams offers children (and parents) the opportunity to improve their spelling, learn new words and it also teaches them how to think on their feet. With silly words to signal changes to the game, and its fast pace, kids will love playing Bananagrams with their family and friends. It is the perfect size for taking with you on your next family getaway as well!

Players and their opponents aim to use all of their letters to build a word grid in a race to the finish. The first player to use all of their tiles is crowned “Top Banana”! BANANAGRAMS requires no pencil, paper, or board, and comes in a small portable banana-shaped pouch that’s perfect. . .at home or on the go.

This is such a great game for kids who are just learning how to ‘math’. The different colour tiles are perfect for helping children understand what a sum is and how the symbols and numbers work together. Also a super fun game which is perfectly packaged to take with you on the road, or use at home.

Mobi is a fun. . .tile game that helps kids (and grown-ups) learn and apply basic math skills. Play numbered tiles and symbols to create simple equations. Use all of your numbered tiles first, and you win. Packs away in an adorable blue whale bag, and it’s ready to play on any flat surface.

Rory’s Story Cubes

I love this game. It really helps children get creative and will help them in school with their creative writing. It’s lots of fun and we had a lot of laughs as we tried to think of where our story would go.

Once upon a time, there was a game where your imagination had no limits. Epic, fabulous, or paranormal adventures… roll the cubes, make a story! Rory’s Story Cubes is a game to discover with family or friends. In turn, each player becomes the Narrator. Throw the dice, and create a story starting with “Once upon a time…” using the nine symbols on the faces of the dice. Then, follow your imagination!

Added to the fact that these are fun, educational games; they also offered us a time to connect and laugh as a family. In a world filled with screens and busyness, these games offer the perfect opportunity to connect with those that matter most 💕.
