I am blessed to belong to a wonderful group of Women in the South Peninsula, Cape Town (in the valley). Some of us are connected on a group on Facebook called “South Peninsula Moms” which was started by Nicole Downes.
A wonderful thing happened this week. Nadine van der Westhuizen wanted to “bless a deserving mom” and her family with a free cut and blow dry. So inspired by Nadine, who had also just cut her hair, Lee Mitchell decided to offer a “stressed mommy a facial and a stressed daddy an hour massage”… and so it began. By the end of the day, more than 220 other moms had offered to #PayItForward.
Jewellery, nights away, movie tickets, cakes, dinner out and delivered, business services, manicures, pedicures, photography shoots, home crafts, donations to tears, birthday parties for single moms, baby goods, singing lessons, babysitting, shopping vouchers, airtime, big tips to car guards, food for Tears and much much more. The love brought many of us to tears and it is spreading! Table View Neighbours have also started to #PayItForward and many other groups are starting to get involved.
As I was driving yesterday, I heard the Fight Song by Rachel Platten on KFM. Little did they know how apt this song was…
“Like a small boat
On the ocean
Sending big waves
Like how a single word
Can make a heart open
I might only have one match
But I can make an explosion”
What a difference we can make by just doing the little that we can do for those around us. Here is to sharing the positive and stamping out the negative. Thank you Nadine for being that small boat, single word & one match!
I was blessed to be able to offer a free training/consultation from the Web Assistant. What can you do? #PayItForward
