Getting to know – Nicolette from My Tiny Blessing

Nicolette and her family have a business that began as most family businesses begin – they noticed a need that was not being met, got creative and came up with a solution. She has also struggled with what most family businesses struggle with and that is reaching her target audience. Find out a little more about Nicolette and what advice she can give to those just starting out!

Are you a momtrepreneur, dadtrepreneur or familytrepreneur? Tell us more
about how it all started?

Familytrepreneur.

My Tiny Blessing® was founded in 2013, after the birth of my little nephew, a true miracle weighing only 1.2kg. After seeing how limited product availability is, we decided to start a family run business offering free delivery of premature baby products in the Pretoria area.

What has been your greatest success?

Our handmade burpie blankets, towels and baby blankets has turned out to be a big hit. This has now lead to us selling adult blankets as well.

And your biggest failure?

Difficulty of reaching a bigger audience.

What advice would you give to other familytrepreneurs who are just starting out?

Never give up! Good things come to those who do good.

What is your favourite quote?

“Everything will be ok in the end…if it is not ok, it is not the end”.

Anything else you wish share?

We stock everything you’ll need: specially made premium diapers for premature babies, the highest quality pacifiers for three different developmental stages of baby’s growth, kangaroo slings, teddy bear bonding blankets, the softest Burpie Blankets (“spoegdoek”), personalised embroidered towels and facecloths, and much more.

My Tiny Blessing® is based in the Centurion, Pretoria area. We offer free delivery during weekends within (Pretoria & Centurion) and overnight delivery (during the week) at a minimal delivery cost. Products can be shipped to all other locations in South Africa.
