- Look up! Use wire to make a space to store gift wrap rolls against the ceiling, rather than cluttering up the floor.

- If you have to fry foods and hate the fried odour that can linger for days, leave a small cup of bleach on a kitchen counter (make sure it is far away from small hands). The bleach will absorb the fried odour as you make your food. Be sure to dispose of the bleach properly and keep out of reach of children and pets. For a more natural idea, try using lemon juice.
- Bread tags make the perfect-sized cord labels.
- Sorry Mr Ant! Put small piles of cornmeal where you see ants. They eat it, take it “home”, can’t digest it so it kills them. It may take a week or so, especially if it rains , but it works & you don’t have the worry about pets or small children being harmed!
- Store sheet sets inside one pillowcase to keep set together.
- When you are baking cake, instead of using flour to dust the pans, use a little of the actual cake mix to dust the pans, this way you will not have flour on the outside of the cake after baking.
- Freeze Aloe Vera in ice-cube trays for soothing sunburn relief.
- If you seal an envelope and then realize you forgot to include something inside, just place your sealed envelope in the freezer for an hour or two. Voila! It unseals easily.
- To clean the inside of your microwave, fill a microwave safe bowl with ½ cup of soapy water, heat on high for 2 minutes, carefully remove bowl and wipe clean with a damp cloth.
- A tip for holiday packing: Store shoes inside shower caps to stop dirty soles rubbing on your clothes.
- Stop cut apples browning in your child’s lunch box by securing with a rubber band.
- To keep squirrels from eating your plants sprinkle your plants with cayenne pepper. The cayenne pepper doesn’t hurt the plant and the squirrels won’t come near it.
